Since its conception rap music has been misused in America to encourage misrepresentation and to create and promote division and disadvantageous stereotypes of our black and brown citizens. Rather than question the quality of character of the talented souls that tell tales, if we are legitimately interested in the wellbeing of all our citizens, we would do right to focus on why we have encouraged violence and drugs in the communities that are the most vulnerable, and the systems that have placed the people there to begin with. Rest in peace.
